Aldupré Brangus

Albertus du Preez knows a good thing when he sees it. So when he saw a red Brangus cow early in the new millennium he knew this was the way to go. Aldupré Brangus was established in 2001 on the farm Koppie Alleen in the Petrusburg district in the Free State. Apart from being attractive animals, Albertus prefers working with a docile breed and likes the Brangus temperament as one of the unique qualities of the breed. In order to build a superior herd, Albertus believes that a breeder shouldn’t be scared to make the hard decisions – in quality cattle breeding there is no place for being sentimental. Functionality in terms of the herd is key to his decision-making. Over the past decade, Aldupré has sold several bulls to commercial farmers all over South Africa and as far as Namibia. The stud has produced several prize-winning female animals, and in 2004 the South African senior champion bull came from the Aldupré stud.
